Directions to us – Hiking tips for Rübezahl-Alm alpine pasture

Climbing the mountain yourself is the most amazing thing.

Whether it's sunny, raining or snowing, it's always beautiful!

On foot, by bicycle, or on skis - it's a unique way to experience nature.


It takes 1 to 1.5 hours to get to us on foot from the Hartkaiser valley station and only about 45 minutes from the Bergschenke. The hour-long Rübezahl's carved figure trail (link) is especially exciting for children.

Two hours of pleasurable hiking will take you from Brandstadl Scheffau over the Hartkaiser.


From the "uphill" Hartkaiserbahn valley station

From Bergschenke (Faistenbichl 41)

From the "downhill" Hartkaiserbahn mountain station

The Hartkaiserbahn funicular railway:


14.05.2016 - 30.10.2016: daily from 9.00 am to 17.00 pm

In summer: the middle station of the Hartkaiser-Bahn funicular railway is open continuously every day from 10.00 to 17.00.

It's about a 15-minute leisurely walk from the middle station to the Rübezahl Alm.

(Note: You can only get ON and OFF at the MIDDLE STATION on the ASCENT).


In the winter: The Hartkaiserbahn funicular railway will also take you up to us in comfort and with a great view. Hit piste 80 blue and weave your way down to us for a pit stop!

TIP: Our hiking trails are in excellent condition and offer beautiful views (turn and have a look around).

Take your time and enjoy the hike to the fullest.

Make sure you wear good shoes and always take rain gear just in case. There is no bad weather, only the wrong clothes!
